LOSS FOR SO-CALLED "SMART GROWTH"
County Wide Zoning Loses Big in La Salle County, Illinois
Final information from all 125 precincts indicates that a county wide zoning advisory referendum in La Salle County, Illinois has lost handily. The
proposed ordinance would have included so-called "smart growth" strategies. This is significant
victory for the La Salle County Land Owners Association, which obtained more than 12,000 petition signatures to place the item on the ballot.
